This Skills for Security and BIIAB accredited MAYBO Physical Intervention programme provides candidates with a wider range of non-violent options for dealing with the most common scenarios involving physical contact in pubs & clubs. After completing this course, staff will feel more confident carrying out their roles safely and within the law.
In today’s world many of us are in involved in high risk roles and activities that may require us to utilise some form of physical intervention.
Until recently there was a distinct lack of formal recognised training to address this issue. Furthermore, with the lack of training, anyone who uses or applies any form of physical intervention may, potentially, be left open to accusations of assault and possible prosecution.
Maybo’s unique programme equips candidates with the necessary skills to calm a situation, without resorting to the application of pain techniques to gain the aggressor’s compliance.
These skills are taught in such a way as to allow the candidates to identify the most suitable option to either extract themselves or calm the situation. They were created so that both men and women can confidently apply them in situations to protect themselves, colleagues and customers. Furthermore the entire programme of skills has undergone a complete expert medical and legal review.
» The employer & employee benefits

A further benefit for companies within the SIA's Approved Contractor Scheme is that, through additional Physical Intervention training the culture of continuous improvement is being clearly demonstrated.
Benefits to the employee:
This training delivers the knowledge and practical skills that employers and their staff have been demanding for managing higher risk situations.
Staff will feel more confident to carry out their roles safely and within the law. They will receive professional support notes and a BIIAB certificate on completion.

Programme overview
With the recent Terror Alert Status in the UK rising to "SEVERE", terrorism awareness and prevention, coupled with training is becoming ever more vital. We all have a part to play in ensuring that our businesses and working environments can continue to operate with a greater degree of safety.
The traditional view of a terror campaign being targeted at governmental locations has changed.
It is now acknowledged that it is the public which is often the terrorist’s target. In particular crowded locations, such as public transport, shopping centres and bars/nightclubs, where large numbers of people gather have become key targets.
It is essential for those who could be responsible for the safety and security of the public, receive realistic and objective training to confront this threat.
This course has been specifically created to help meet this need and allow individuals and organisations to better understand their role and what steps they can take in the fight against terror.
