Courses: 1886 Conflict Management Trainer Certificate
What is the aim of this course?
Workplace violence and aggression is a growing concern in many industries including those in the public sector and where ther is a risk of workplace violence employers have a legal duty of care to provide adequate training and resources commensurate with the risk. This has lead to a nationaly recognised qualification being developed in order to meet the HSE requirements thus meeting the employers duty of care in providing Conflict Management Training to staff. Over previous years there have been many variations such as Violence and aggression training or conflict resolution.
Who is it for?
Delegates should have experience and or a recognised qualification in delivering training (7302, 7303 higher or equivalent). Evidence of this will need to be provided.
The purpose of this City and Guilds 1886 scheme is to provide a qualification for those who want to train others to deal with any types of violence in the workplace (e.g. teach C&G 1884). It is a qualification that will equip you to train a wide range of workers, security operators, door supervisors and all those who interact face-to-face with fellow workers and the public.
Our course is designed to give experienced or new trainers hints and tips in preparing scenarios both for conflict management and indeed any other type of training. Scenario based training is often a training tool neglected due to many having had bad experiences of scenario/role play in the past. Usually this is down to the poor delivery and preparation, we aim to demonstrate how this can become an enjoyable part of any training package for both student and trainer.
City and Guilds 1886 Award is suitable for those who work, or want to work as Trainers of:
- Security Guards and Public Area Personnel
- Customer Service Positions
- Bailiffs

- Event and Entertainment Personnel
