Since 1997 DSTO has progressed from exclusively training door supervisors to a multi-faceted operation offering a wide range of courses within the security
and hospitality industries.

Many things have changed since we started training but one thing that has always been, and will continue to be the same is our dedication to provide exceptional service in all aspects of our business.

About Adrian

Adrian has been involved with DSTO since it started training local Door Supervisors in Bournemouth in 1998. Subsequently he has seen the company grow into a national operator offering a range of Security/Leisure industry related qualifications.

His primary role is financial and dealing with corporate clients, but problem solving is a regular feature of his 'to do' list.

Adrian is passionate about customer service and is a firm believer in the saying "Customers may forget what you said but they'll never forget how you made them feel."

About Bob

Bob started working as a Door Supervisor in 1998 and in 2000 became involved with the training of Door Supervisors in Nationally Accredited Qualifications under the late and great Pete Boucher.

Bob has been training in martial arts for almost 30 years and is a qualified martial artist coach. He has been teaching kickboxing and traditional karate for over 15 years as well as physical restraint to Door Supervisors as part of his martial arts classes.

During 2011 Bob has been a leading light in the formation and development of AEGIS Skills which is now accredited to deliver the Level 3 Physical Intervention Training programme for people wanting to become trainers of Door Supervisors.

Trainer Damion Redwood

About Damion

Damion has been working within the security industry for the last 8 years. He has worked in various sectors such as Static guarding, Close protection and Event security but the sector he has mainly worked in is Door supervision.

Although Damion has only been working within the industry for the last eight years the industry has been around him my whole life. Damion's father Marcus Redwood is a very well known and respected veteran Doorman who has been working the doors for more than 30 years.
Over twenty years ago Marcus started his own company Marc-One Security which has been successfully trading ever since.

Damion is now a partner and operations manager for Marc-One Security. His role includes overseeing the 28 venues and eighty staff  across Kent and Sussex.

Damion is also actively working as a Head Doormen.
 
Damion has studied various Martial arts over the years but now mostly sticks to BJJ, Muay Thai and Western Boxing. 

Trainer Danny McInerney

About Danny

Danny has over 30 years of experience working in roles dealing with Conflict Management within the Private, Public, Leisure and Education sectors.


He has been a qualified Physical Intervention tutor for over 15 years.

I subscribe to and teach, wholeheartedly, the ethos of effective behaviour management, empowerment and valuing the person as an individual.

Trainer Eddie Sidaway

About Eddie

Eddie has worked in the security industry since 1999 in a wide range of positions.  He has worked in roles from an overnight Security Guard to Close Protection Officer and Security Manager for some large retailers.

As well as being a serving Head Door Supervisor, Eddie holds a Close Protection license and is also a fully registered martial arts instructor with the British Combat Association.

Eddie works as a Training Manager for Venture Security Management and delivers Security and First Aid Training.

About Gav

Gavin left a military background in 1988 and became self employed as a freelance operative in the security industry doing surveillance and close protection work as well as training for large multinational companies. 

Since 2004 Gavin has been training security courses for corporate clients as well as within the NHS, licence trade and local councils specialising in violence and aggression in the workplace.

Gavin states "My passion is making sure people are safe when working and in their everyday lives.  We all need to be much more aware of our own personal safety in this day and age and in my own small way I hope to make people more aware and plan for situations before they arise."

Trainer Paul Howe BSc (hons), MCIM AMBII

About Paul

Paul has worked in the Security Industry for more than a decade and established Venture Security in 2006. In this time he has built a wealth of experience in the protection of people and assets.

Paul has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Plymouth and is a qualified and experienced trainer. He is a member of the Institute of Conflict Management, an affiliate member of the Institute for Learning and an associate member of the British Institute of Innkeeping. More recently he was invited into the SIA’s Strategy and Standards Group for Door Supervision, an industry group dedicated to improving standards within the door supervision sector.

Outside of Venture, Paul dedicates his time to helping local community groups such as Andover Community First Responders, a local group who respond to medical emergencies, and Andover Businesses Against Crime, a group committed to the reduction of business crime in and around the town. He is also a non-executive director of North Hampshire’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

About Tony

Tony has had a combined career within the security and hospitality industries for over 28 years.
 
As well as training, Tony still works as a door supervisor, static security and event security on a casual basis.

Tony believes everyone has the ability to achieve anything they want to and as trainers it is our responsiblity to help them achieve those goals.

Trainer Tracey Moore

About Tracey

Tracey has been working as a door supervisor since 2001. She continues to work the doors and is firm believer that you cannot teach something that you do not do yourself.  Tracey also provides security for big concerts, boxing shows and council events during the year.

Previous jobs have included working and aiding residents for the YMCA and Activities Instructor.

Tracey is also a fully qualified first aid and CCTV trainer.  Her style of training is quote:

"Relaxed and real.  I want people to be confident and professional in their job and also to use the skills they learn in their day to day lifes.  Security work is very rewarding if it's done properly."
